IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS SILVER, BUT NOT FOR SURE.
 

Is that an 8 before the r on the reverse? That would make it an 8 reale coin

Thats on my wish list :o

These were used in trade all across the world, mainly at trading countries. Sailors would sew them into their clothes for safe keeping.

I would have to say its a Reale, check to see if there is an 8 on it, that would make it an 8 Reale, nice find!
