Help Identify: Please

I picked up this piece at a swap meet in SanFran. The women I bought it from said she got it at the estate sale of a couple that use to travel in Eastern Europe allot. Has anyone seen anything similar or have any idea where I should start investigating. Or if its just a modern piece made to look old.

Hey mudflap333 and welcome.
I don't have a clue! sorry. If no one else chimes in down here, we have a "What is it?" section up at the top part of the forum, you might try your post there. There is some of the smartest brains on the planet here, imho, they'll have it pinpointed in no time, I'm sure!
