Found this brass button my last trip out this past week after another bad storm. It was not very deep in fresh sand on the flats right off the beach northside of Cape Cod. There has been a lot of erosion all along the beaches this Fall. Found some older brass pipe parts that were beat up. Weird this button still has a dark blue thread on the back. It looks like a horse and rider carrying a pole with carved pumpkins on either end. The rider's head looks round and may be a pumpkin as well. Kind of a Sleepy Hollow motif going. It looks like the word VOCANT is along the edge, hard to see the rest. I think it might be Latin. I don't think is new. But they have been dredging the channel just off shore this fall and pumping the sand on the flats. This might be a clue or not. Ant thought would be great.

many thanks,

Bill
