Two-maravedis copper coin of Philippe III, 1598-1621 AD. Segovia mint, dated ( I believe) 1602. Castle, inscription "PHILIPPVS III D.G" / Lion, inscription "+ HISPANIARVM REX 1602". Aqueduct mintmark.

S-9 will have in it's description: 'Castle in octolobe' and 'Crowned lion (or rampant lion) in octolobe'--found frequently during the reign of Philipi III (1598-1621)
Somewhat similar to this coin:
Don in SoCal.

Scott,
Apparently, the experts are choosing to just lurk. I thought my somewhat vague (or inaccurate) responses would have baited them to respond, I"ll continue to stumble on as time permits.

#7 similar to this one: 1566 Spain Coronado Castle Monogram Coin - Philip II

PS... Also besides... Don... i consider YOU to be knowledgeable here in copper cobs.
More so than i anyway...
I am trying to recollect another member here with some copper cob knowledge.

I for one have never even held a copper one. ( and perhaps i have and just dont remember)
As for Silver and gold... Pleasurably .... many times.

ARC,
The maravedis coins that show the aquaduct and lion were minted during the reign of Philip II and III and perhaps others--making them difficult to attribute in the condition they are typically found.
Don.....
