Can anyone tell me what this stocking holder depicts? I thought is was an angel, but she does not have wings
I would guess it is just a girl hanging Christmas ornaments. Looks like a star in her hand, for the tree top and possibly a Christmas tree skirt going across her from arm to arm.

Thank you for your help. We've been debating what she is doing and yours is the most logical answer I've heard.

Wouldn’t be very aerodynamic though , look at the proportion to her frame. 😂 I think that is just added ornamentation. Doesn’t appear to be attached to he back/shoulders to me.

I agree. Which is why I'm leaning to it being a girl hanging an ornament/star holding a tree skirt that Blackfoot58 suggested

so what is it?

I’d say it is ornamentation, similar to a filigree-type design. Possibly it was needed for the additional weight. Stocking hangers need to hold considerable leverage without tipping over. Nobody wants their orange, apple and candy to end up in the fireplace. 🎅
