✅ SOLVED Help identifying this piece

Found this in a field where maps show that a house was hear in the mid- to late 1800s. The front has a design and the ring moves easily. Something to do with furniture? Or horses? This was certainly the area of a farm. No design on the back, but is stamped with 8464. Grateful for any help.

Well the ring being just 2" and the attachment (ring holder) appearing to be light "tackle" I don't think it was asked to do much. Is there a hole in the ring holder because I don't see how the end of it attached to anything....? I can't see one...?

Pull ring off a drawer. Screw goes from the drawer back and screws into the hole.
This holds the furniture brass on also.
Something like the image shows.

Is there a way to identify them? just curious.
