Found near old homestead near my park I work. It’s rather rough and it broke. I’ve never seen any piece like this. I’ve got it in vinegar so maybe it will reveal something more

Possible hanger frame. They used them in the barn lofts for moving bales. Slid along a track.

I at least figured it was something that clamped or hung something . Thanks for the right direction

It is part of a backband buckle (aka "hook") off of a horse harness.

Take a look at bucksaw sharping vices.
it's hard to tell in that condition, but that's what it reminds me of.
