Looks like fibrous malachite to me, could some other copper minerals too though I guess.

Darn I don't believe that is it I will take more photos and maybe that will help :(

Do some research on the area it came from. Google can help you identify it very quickly. There aren't many green minerals that make those formations. But start with researching the geology of the area that was found in and go from there. Let us know what you find.

Malachite has a green streak, so do a streak test. That should settle the question quickly. :)

Oh, and do it on some place out of sight on the specimen. Don't wanna disturb the value!

Maybe fibrous malachite or possibly actinolite??

It is Atacamite, Malachite has a colloidal form. Both have green streaks and similar hardness. Shape is the deciding factor.
