I just picked up my first typewriter and am trying to get it ready to list... Unfortunately I can't find what model # and year it is...

Is anyone familiar with typewriters?

Olympia De Luxe
Serial # 2077425 (stamped on bottom)
Made in Western Germany

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can't help specifically, but I have heard that typewriters should be avoided unless you have a brick and mortar location. Most are not particularly valuable, making the large cost and hassle to ship them not worth it for most buyers. I don't mean to rain on your parade, I'm sure you'll do just fine with this one if you bought it cheap enough!

It's believe it's either one of the following models: a sm 7, sm 8, or sm 9.

I've sold a few other brands/types locally on craigslist and ironically there isn't much competition.
I live I Seattle and some hipsters will use them to type custom poems at the local farmers markets and street fairs and sell them.
If I don't sell it on craigslist I'll put it up on eBay and deal with the shipping (I have a scale so it shouldn't be to bad)

I only paid $10...Just need to figure out the model... I believe it's a sm 7 model.. If it is it's worth between $100-200.

Hopefully someone on here will know.
