Help - Newbie at the beach

[NC Iron Man]

Need technical help. I have my Ace 250 at Myrtle Beach today. Using 9x12 coil. Getting constant false iron/foil readings and ghost readings. I can't pinpoint with the false iron and foil readings. Appreciate any help. I have eliminated iron and foil all the way up to pulltab, but still issues. Thanks for any help.

Really about the only thing you can do is turn the sensitivity down until remains stable and stay away from the wet sand.

I don't think you really have to pin point at a beach just scoop........

Besides turning down the sensitivity you should check to see that no sand is in the coil cover. Turn off your cell phone too as it can interfer with the detectors.

I was just out at the beach on South Padre Island experiencing the same type of thing. Ghost signals, pinpoints that are 4 x 4 feet wide, etc. Turned down the sensitivity to 3 bars and that stabilized it but then the depth drops to about 3 or 4 inches. And as far as it doing any good in the surf...no luck at all. Very unstable, dropped it down to 2 bars, 3 at most and still when a small wave hits it it goes off. Guess this machine is just not for beach use at all. Time for a beach machine...sigh...
