Today I went detecting at the beach and had a pretty good day. i used my Equinox in the morning and found the medallion with the chain and another 22k Medallion that has an inscription with lettering I can't identify. I am thinking it is from China or maybe India since it is marked 916 which signify's 22k gold. if you recognize the lettering can you let me know? It was nice to get in the water today which is where I found the 22k medallion.

Ottoman Turkish Coin. That's all I know.

Thank you

You far from Cocoa Beach? I need a vacation...

Now that's a sweet chunk of yellow!!:notworthy:

Awesome finds man, great day of detecting! There might be a 22k chain floating around in the area still, the bale is still intact on that medallion. You got some Pandora in the mix too with that little silver crown ring, I found one recently exactly like it hallmarked "925 S ALE 52" on the inside of the band.

VERY NICE :icon_thumleft:
when I was around 16-17 - (in the late 70s) I was hunting in some over grown woods where a
WW I training ground was -- others weren't finding too much and sun was setting
I got a xf barber dime and yelled to others what I got and I wanted to hunt a little
longer - they yelled back "Lets go or we'll leave you behind" - I quickly started to swing around
as fast as I could trying to cover the area around the Barber. One guy yelled again
'Let's go!" other honked the horn. I started heading towards the car swinging wildly and
came upon a huge tree that had fallen and while trying to get over it - tripped and fell
- as I did - my machine went off with a blast. Again - horn honking - "lets go"
"I got a nice hit!" "We don't care" - I quickly dug down and was surprised by a huge
silver dollar sized tarnished coin - Long story short - marking looked almost exactly
like yours - especially the left side pic.
Seeing your find - brought back the memory of mine - wish I still had the coin
wish I had thought to take pics back then

yours is a coin made into a medal

So what detector was this found with ? The Sand Shark ? I been thinking of coming down to Florida for a little metal detecting.
