Help w/ ID Coastal Georgia

Found this on the of Georgia’s Barrier Islands today almost 2ft in the ground. I know of shell mounds in the same general area. Any help with Id would be greatly appreciated.

The other thing was it was tampered off like a pot and the line below the rim looks hand made.

I would piece of terra cotta pot. Probably early 1900's. I think the ring around the end was for decoration.
