My name is Toni and I have a pin that i am trying to get some info on.
Can anyone help me identify and and find history of this pin. I think it has something to do with the civil war era but that's all i can find.

what is that large peice attached to the eagle? is that supposed to represent a hat of some kind. maybe you could post a side pic of it. Thanks for the quarter reference. It was larger than i originally thougt.

I read that it was a Campaign hat. stetson style hat possibly.

Yes its a hat. I have seen other pins with hats. Here is an example with a firemans hat. Maybe of interest. Sometimes just the little hats are found as they fall off.
