My wife found this while metal detecting on an old family homestead. We are wondering what a Stanley No 5432 is and where this part fits. As always any help would be greatly appreciated. It is 7 3/8" X 3 7/8"

Just a guess but maybe part of an old Stanley plane. They made hundreds of models

It looks a lot like a piece from a rabbet plane.Stanley made a bewildering array of tools, some of a very specialty niche nature.Good luck on your search.

You might contact Stanley Tools directly, send a picture and the numbers. Maybe they can identify it for you!
