Help with art signature?

I saw this earlier today and it looked quite old. It is in somewhat rough shape as you can see but just to be sure can anyone help me identify it? They wanted $100 which seemed steep considering I don't know anything about art! I can't decipher the signature.

Looks like it says "Avil Heide". I found another on ebay:

I'd say pass, unless you really like it. It just isn't very good. I wouldn't pay $25 for it, much less $100.
