If ferrous i would say someone used a plasma cutter to cut a slug ?

No iron at all on it. I ran it under water to get the mud off and then when it dried it started flaking. I haven’t attempted to clean other than a rinse. Same as an Indian head penny on material it’s made up off. Any suggestions on cleaning. It’s the green patina that looks weird because of my lighting.

I’ve seen these attached to giant safety pins from a meat packing plant, don’t know what they were used for.
