Was there any more info with it? Where it may have came from? What other things was it with?

It looks like it's made of onyx to me.
Yup, Mexican Onyx. The colorful stuff is usually travertine, the cloudy white stuff is a calcite usually from the mines near Tehuacan. Both were used in ancient times. They are a lot softer than actual onyx which is a banded agate material, somewhat knappable.

Here is a photo of the back
I was expecting it to be flat on the backside, a lot of those are modern made jewelry pieces from Taxco Mexico. If you google Taxco Jade Jewelry you'll see lots of these little heads, usually dyed bright green to simulate Jade. They were quite popular a couple of decades back. They were set in relative high grade silver, which is often melted down leaving the little heads turning up all over the internet and collections.

Your piece is rounded. I'd still lean towards a tourist piece, but it would be hard to say without really looking at the tool marks. Calcite will take a bright polish especially if coated in a resin, but ancient pieces usually get a bit chalky from slightly acid conditions.
