Henri IX coin, token?

I found this at an old lot in California. It appears to be copper or brass and about the size of a half dollar. The front profiles a bearded man wearing a wreath. The inscription says "HENRI IX" with a backwards N. I believe the roman numeral is IX as it is notched on either side. The back is flat. Any ideas?
