Hello again back out at the bosses sons place . This place is big. The hardest thing about the fields is the tall grass waist high. The only thing the Mildetector and I can do is to take 2by4s with ropes 4 feet long and do the crop circle thing. Witch is a lot of work before u even start to metal detect. I have to say i found the biggest square nail I ever found.6 INCHES long 20201217_184226.webp 20201217_131714.webp And once again luck comes to me. A half a foot in to the weeds that weren't pushed down . Here come the British. Why do I say that look on the back side it says
ORANGE COLOUR 20201217_175755.webp you can see some of the gold. I believe the button is from the 1700s 20201217_182212.webp 20201217_185757.webp 20201217_192403.webp

Another awesome day at the permission. Wish I could have been there today. Seems like most of the goods are mid 1800s or older. Love that button for sure and that big ol' nail. Can't wait till Sunday to put in some work.

Nice button, but it's from the second half of the 19th C, not 18th. I'm sure there's more good stuff there....good luck with the site!

Nice finds. Your button is a "flower" button circa 1830-40.

Agreed button, circa 1830

Very nice looking flat button.
Early 1800s is still a big hit in my book...
