Had an hour yesterday to get back to the site that produced the 1851 large cent and the NY militia button from my last post from a heavily hunted spot. Somehow managed to pull a few good targets out. Almost passed the signal of the flying eagle due to it being so faint and barely audible. So glad I didn’t!! Haven’t dug one of these in years ! Finished up with a nice very deep trigger guard and a flat button. The Equinox does not disappoint. Thanks for letting me share and good luck to everyone !

Beautiful flying eagle, congrats. As appreciated as FE's are as a recovery, they usually emerge in pretty rough shape.

Great work!!! I'm a signal snob but since the weather got colder I spend my time reading and learning more....the next time I detect I'm digging everything. I wonder how much stuff I've passed on for some other MDer to dig??? We may never know. If this snow melts soon I'll let you all know.

Great stuff!
That Flying eagle Cent is in great shape...!
Reverse the same, I'd bet...!
The one I dug years ago, all you can see is the shape of the eagle...!

Nice recoveries! Beautiful flying eagle cent! That trigger guard is rather ornate, too. Thank you for sharing with us.

298,

Very nice. You have to love the forgiving sandy soil - definitely one of my my favorite places to detect. Good luck with your hunts. Walt
