Hello Everyone,
As promised, here's a couple pics of my 507, and counting, silver coins I've dug this year so far. The first pic contains my Halfs, Quarters, Barbers, Mercs, and War Nickels. The second pic are my Rosies. Total coinage value is about $57. Total weight is about 3.5 pounds. All were individual silver finds, mostly from the turf, from a total of about 44 parks...no caches...I had a few multiple silver holes, which are always exciting to dig. My best silver and most rewarding find so far has to be the 1858 Seated Half I found about 3 weeks ago in a heavily hunted area.
Interestingly, after almost 450 silver dimes found, I've found about the same number of mercs as rosies. To pull these silvers out of the ground, I had to dig over 2200 wheaties, a handful of Indian Heads and Buffalos, lots of clad(about $900 worth), a good amount of jewelry(about 68 silver pieces, a few gold), and a mess of trash. It's been a truly great year for me so far. Just looking at these pics has brought back so many great memories of my prior hunts(I just did a double fist pump!!)....hoping to get maybe a 100 more before the year end....we'll see.
If I had to give one helpful bit of information for all md'ers out there it would have to be this:
Never give up on an area that you think has been hunted out.....it hasn't...
Thanks for looking,
