Here's the rifle I found a while back......(finally took pics)

Found this Rossi .22 pump a while back in an abandoned house that was about to be demolished here. It's a complete wreck as you can see from the amount of metal lost to rust, but the neat thing is the hammer and trigger still work, though the barrel is completely rusted shut. I'm really surprised the wood is in such good shape, even though the rest of it is so rough. I worked it over with a brass brush and got most of the active rust off and I'm about to give it a good oiling and hang it on the wall.

You sure it's a Rossi? Sure does look like a Remington to me.

I was about to say the same thing, George. It looks like a 1906 Remington pump, also known as a takedown rifle because you remove the one screw on the side of the receiver and it slides apart. It would have been a good shooter in its day.

Yeah it's a Rossi model 62, which is basically a clone of the Remington. Unfortunately it's so rusted I can't find any markings on the receiver or barrel. Looks good on the wall though :)

Yep that's a Rossi model 62, I've got one just like it and it is a sweet shooting rifle. My rifle will shoot as fast as you can pump it with the trigger held. Accurate within 3" at 100 yards as well. Good find there NOLA_Ken :icon_thumright:

Not much else there, the lot is on my list to MD though, now that the building and rubble have been cleared.

The Rossi 62A is a close copy of the Winchester model 62A. The exteriors look identical, but there are some internal differences. As an example, the Winchester would shoot shorts, longs and long rifle ammunition, while the Rossi is long rifle only. They are a lot of fun to shoot. That one will make a very good wall hanger!
