I was laying pipe in Texas and went down a new manhole to break the clay pipe open running through it and when I climbed backout, I pulled myself out by pulling myself up on the rim of the manhole. There was a fireant mound right next to the rim and about a dozen crawled up my arm and stung me all over my forearm. They're sting is pretty painful. The sting on these ants is kind of bad also, but nothing like those Texas fireants. Bella got stung between her toes on her back foot by ants like these and she limped for quite a distance after that.
