YOU WROTE (The hip mount you can also make easy with a 1" alum tube. I hang mine from my neck with a mount I made from a leg of an alum chair and holes drilled to attach battery pod and controls. An old camera neck strap completes it.)

This sounds like something I would like on the Excal II I will buy this month, anybody else with pic's are appreciated, as a picture is worth a thousand words.

I made my excalibur hipmount, using a 12" length of 3/4" PVC pipe.

I drilled three holes in the pipe to line up with the excalibur mounting holes.

Then bought a 2" wide nylon work belt from Lowes for $5.99., and punched holes in the belt to line up with the holes in the plastic pipe.

Then used plastic screws, plastic wingnuts, and plastic washers found at Lowes, to mount the excalibur to the pipe and belt.

The end result is a fully water proof hip mount, with room on the belt for a find's pouch, water bottle, etc.

Total cost under $8 and total time to build less than 20 minutes.

I made one with an old life jacket strap and some nylon bolts and wing nuts.
Cost me about $1.50.....

The first chest mount was made from a section or 1" x 12" wood stock with holes drilled where the ears would go. Then I got fancy and made one of an alum chair leg. Hack it off, drill total four holes and your done. Could have used 1" PVC pipe too. The neck strap is from an old camera, but any webbing would work and doesn't have to be adjustable.
