Hey Y'all
Hey Y'all. New to the boards and new to prospecting. I came across this forum when doing some research on gold panning and found tons of great info so I thought I would join. I'm in NC and apparently there is gold out there and I'm hoping to get my hands on some of it. I bought a couple pans, a classifier, a snuffer bottle and some vials and tried my luck in a few creeks in the area with no luck. Lots of pyrite and black sand but no gold. I did a bunch of research before going out and felt like I had a good idea of what I needed to do. Boy was I wrong, I went up to a local gold mine here this past weekend and rented a sluice and bought some material. I found a small amount of gold and gained a ton of knowledge but pretty much realized that i was doing this all wrong. Next stop, buying a sluice box and some mesh classifiers.
