Hey y'all

Rob here from NC. I figured I could asked y'all for any suggestions on what kind of beginners MD to buy ($150-$300 budget). I live around a lot of old plantation houses and Civil War activity areas and I'm anxious to get my feet wet and start a treasure hunt! Thanks guys.

Hello and welcome to the forum Rob!

Hi Rob, that price range will get you a Garrett Ace 250 or 350. North Carolina and Virginia have some highly mineralized soil, so a detector with ground balance capability will improve your depth. The Garrett AT pro is a great relic machine for the money at just under $600, with ground balance and target ID numbers.

Im kinda new to metal detecting as well. The detector that I purchased is a Teknetics delta 4000 for $250 and it's been awesome so far. Good luck and welcome from a southern country girl lol. Btw I think it's kinda funny that everyone here in Oklahoma thinks I have a cute southern accent. I don't get it, because I was born and raised here!!!

Welcome aboard--sounds like you have a great spot there---wish i lived closer to your area----just remember to be very careful when cleaning your finds---could destroy something historical---best of luck !!

Welcome Tater. What part of NC are you from???
