I went to a spot I've been hitting this week. Got a couple of silver quarters and an 1882 Indian. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1443217487.654127.jpg But this is the find of the day!!

I guy a quarter signal and out popped a makeup case. I took it home, worked it open and got the hinge loose. Burnished the case and waxed it for shine. Says patent date 1910. One of my favorite finds lately!

Enjoy, because my wife thinks it's disgusting.

Nice silver and the compact is cool, I found an old copper lipstick tube with lipstick still inside, maybe they go together?

Lol. It was nothing really;) I really took my time working the case open hoping it was filled with diamonds. The hinge is the tough thing...

Cool find! How come my make up tins are always empty? Lol

A few years ago I found a "three Merry Widows" condom tin. I opened it....the "device" was still inside!

yeah if you don't mind using an innertube lol.

I can identify. Who would ever have known that I would get excited about a cosmetics tin or old lipstick container, and my wife, whom I love, thinks it's just this side of junk!
"That's nice Dear."
Well. I think that's a very cool find. WTG!

Makes you wonder about the makeup though, that it lasted this long in the ground. lol

I get the same treatment from my wife. I show her a 1794 liberty cap cent and she says it just looks like a grungy disk[emoji35] as for the makeup, I think Mercury preserves cosmetics very well

Awesome finds! That's a nice old goodie! From the days when powder came in a compact instead of a spray can. If there were any germs they are probably long gone!

Haha thx Beep.

I have an anniversary coming up so I'll give it to my wife as a gift. I'll just tell her Msbeepbeep says there's no germs;) lol
