Hey all. I am a new member on the forums here and this is my first post! :headbang: I live in New Paltz, NY and have been doing some research as to where I might find some gold around here. I have found several places describing conglomerate quartz rock that may have gold in it. I was wondering what the heck am i supposed to do to find the gold. Do I still pan for it in the streams up in the ridge? Or am I supposed to be finding it in some other way? I apologize for my extreme lack of knowledge, I am very new to the whole treasure hunting scene and I just feel overwhelmed and lost at the plethora of information that's out there..Someone please help me!! :help:

test pan the stream in a methodical pattern to help point to the source if its close. but you may never find it if its glacial drift gold.
