Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Hi, I was always fascinated by metal detectors and treasure hunting.

my first detector was a magazine project (build by me) that never saw the field cause seriuous assembly defects :BangHead:

then I forgot the treasure hunting for a couple of years...
later i bought a metal detector from those catalogs that were popular in early '90...
it was not good, but the detectorist was not good either :laughing7:

but one day, walking down a river I spot an old camping site and I decide to hunt... I found coins, relics and a gold pendant....
and next day I ordered a Tesoro Silver !!! I found lot of coin and jewerly with this tiny machine.

now I own s 2 Nautilus (IIb and IIa) :headbang:

never like display-type machine so much, i prefer "audio-tone machines" ...

building BFO's and other strange models (no VLF) is my passion (electronics).

hope we become friends and share our knowledge.

Welcome, I like playing with the BFO's too.

Welcome to Tnet, a great community full fo good people who share the passion, Dude just ground balancing an maintaining a good ground balance on a Nautilus takes a college degree. I watch a video on those detectors and yes they go deep, but I doubt if I could learn how to GB that monster.

I think Nautilus is a good/big machine... the tone give information about GB changes so we can keep machine in perfect GB every time just operating 1 knob, and not navigating trough pages of menus ;)

consider that I have the IIba and the IIb ... I'm using the IIba for many of my search.. the IIb need practice to properly balance the coil, and after temperature changes you need to correct this balance... many detectorist don't like this machines because they are "scared" by their "complexity".
