Those that know me know that I don't bounce around a lot. I find one productive site and I pound it and pound it until I'm convinced it's not worth my time. Then I'll move on, only to return at some later date and try again. Sometimes I let years go by before I return to a once productive site.

Such was the case for this site, which I originally got permission at 5 years ago and have been detecting since . My recent hunt at this site a few months back produced nothing, and I was getting ready to move on. But something kept drawing me back, so I ended up there again back a few weekends ago and had a great day with the Seated Quarter, an 1832 Capped Bust half dime and an early Merc.

Needless to say I was anxious to return at my next opportunity, which was this past weekend. I did find a few tombac buttons and then a shallow penny signal, which turned out to be Spanish, dated 1779! Not too much time later I got another similar signal and this time I was hopeful for another Spanish, and it was! I wasn't expecting it to clean up nearly as nice as it did, and by far is the nicest Spanish I've ever dug. And then when looking at the photo, I noticed the brockage error! The mirror image of the reverse of the coin stamped onto the obverse!

The Victoria 3 Pence was found a few months back. - A schoolyard find that totally surprised me!

Thanks for looking!

Great coins! Congratulations!

I wish my old sites were that productive. I cant find a thing at them

I'll take a drive down! Let's see if I can bring them back to life for you!

3 bucket list coins at one site. Amazing. Good luck on finding more.

Pretty Kool Neil! Congrats.

Killer silvers, congratulations and thanks for posting.

Congrats on the great finds! The 1781 1 Reale piece has a Die Clash on the Obverse, not a Brockage. I find it odd that a Spanish Reale struck with manual minting machinery would have a Die Clash and the overall surface of the coin appears porous and odd, especially the Obverse. I don't really know what is up with it and will leave it at that.

Awesome!!! Sweet!!!! Congrats!!! Amazing!!!! Great Job!!!!

Wow, you have found some really cool and notable silver lately. Great variety of old silver coinage!

Congrats on squeezing those last finds out of that site, especially considering that they are quality finds. I do the same thing when a good site stops producing. I give it a few years and return, sometimes with a new detector, and there are always some good targets that appear in areas that I have covered multiple times.

Nice! I just dug my first Capped Bust Half Dime on Saturday. Also a 1832. Yours is way nicer though. Awesome finds.

Congrats on some very nice old coins. I am like you in that I keep pounding the same site over. I have an old campmeeting ground and old 1800's fairgrounds that i have been detecting for 9yrs. i still manage to find old coins. I may only find one coin one trip, or several on my next outing. The thing is I know their still there and there old.

Way to go on those beauty coins. Sometimes old sites just decide to inexplicably light back up and become productive.

Wow, great hunt Neil...you have a knack for finding spectacular silver. I know it is the result of hard work and great research. Thanks for sharing your finds/story. If you ever need a hole digger, I will be the first to volunteer. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

All kinds of cool finds. A good example to all of us about perseverance. I can only imagine the number of targets that you have dug over the years in that spot. Many would have had the been there and done that attitude and missed out on those awesome finds.
