Hello ladies and gents.. I've been a member for about two years but never posted. I'm in northern Ohio and have been very interested in treasure hunting for a long while and just cringed at the cost of the detectors so never bought one.. well hubby must've gotten tired of hearing me so for xmas he bought me the Ace 350 :D Any and all tips, tricks, suggestions, etc... will be appreciated! Also any advice on this machine will be appreciated as well :D Absolutely cannot wait to get started!!

What part of Northern Ohio are you? I am near Wellington. If your close maybe we can hunt together sometime and I could help you learn your detector....

The 350 is a great machine, and you will do well with it. Take time to watch the you tube videos, and practice over and over. I usually hunt in coin mode when I am at old homes, med. sensitivity.....All metal mode with the large coil will make for a frustrating hunt, the machine will light up like a Christmas tree, and drive you crazy. Use the headphones to ignore people, otherwise, let those bell tones ring out!!!

Wel-come aboard ... :hello:

I never hunted in the city, I enjoy staying out here in the smaller towns.

Thanks everyone..
Well I tried my yard tonight just to play around for a bit and learned I cannot dig with my dog around.. I hit on a coin @8" and started digging a nice small hole and my dog seen what I was doing and started digging too lol soooo now I have a huge hole in my yard and lost whatever I hit on :/
Loco - I don't plan on hunting in the city, I would much rather hunt in places I have more area to cover with some history to it.

Welcome Aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Ohio for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Hello and welcome to the forum...

Welcome to the forum.

The Garrett ACE line of detectors work very well. My only suggestion would be keep the sensitivity one bar below max, learn the tones, practice the art of pin pointing and target recovery.

Most of all have fun and enjoy the hunting experience! Happy Hunting in 2015!

Regards,

Welcome from NE Ohio.
