Hiawatha Island

Has anyone tried Md'ing Hiawatha Island, in the Susquehanna River near Owego? I'm told there are ruins of an old hotel that burned down years ago. Can only get to it by boat--no bridges.

Good luck trying to get permission...you have no idea who will be watching you if you even tried. The historical society has that place protected big time. I live like 10 minutes from there. Trust me, if I could I would go in a heartbeat

Hiawatha Island is owned by the Fred L. Waterman Conservation Center. You are correct about the old hotel and Bobby is correct about the swarm of trouble that can be found by disturbing the island. I'm quite positive they wouldn't grant permission to treasure hunt.

Ask, ask, ask. The worst they can say is no!! Unless you're planning a covert hunt which often is hard to do and can be detrimental to all involved. I have hunted some pretty cool old places that most though were off limits just because I asked. ASK!!!
