Hidden Caves

I often wonder if there could be hidden caves where i live in the mountains of nc near old fort area.Been finding lots of arrow heads .I'm at the top of the mtn at ridgecrest in blk.mtn. stonemans raid took place.What kind of research should i do to find good spots to hunt..Looking for the right areas .Also have history of steam engines trains taking tourist to mount mitchel.Tried to find good old travel maps no luck there. Thanks for any help.

There is likely many caves in your area! I state this because I am familiar with your location since I cross Black Mountain and Gold prospect on the Second Broad River south of Marion. Many caves are protected and there maybe Laws for protection of unknown caves in North Carolina as removing Native American artifacts and disturbing what was once their' habitat as well as Bat's habitat, is frowned upon and illegal in most states.
