High tone

Would someone please explain what the high tone is on the Vaquero and Cibola. Is it a modification or is the detector purchased with the high tone?

It's a modification from the factory from my understanding. You can send it in and request it be changed to a higher pitch. The detector will still only have one tone-some people seem to hear and prefer a higher tone. I have seen the Cibola sold with the advertised high tone and it brings about $15 more.

The higher tone Stoney talks about is set at the factory for those that can hear the tone bettter. Some of the more pricey detectors allow you to change the tone in a menue.....Lots more money to pay for the ability to change it once and leave it there forever. Sorta like buying a paying for a huge SUV because you like the power seat you adjust only once.
