So, I went out trout fishing. While I was fishing, I was casting my line out trying to get some fish. All the sudden, I felt something dragging on the end of the pole while my line was in the water.

Thinking it was a fish, I hooked it. Unfortunately, it was not a fish. It turned out to be someone else’s fishing line snagged on the bottom of the lake.

Being a good citizen, I brought in the rest of the line that I snagged to dispose of it. Problem was, it was still heavy, as if something was dragging on the bottom of the lake. When I finally got it in, I realized what it was.

I hooked and brought in someone else’s fishing pole off the bottom of the lake with my fishing pole. Unbelievable. Everyone on the dock was speechless.

After I got it in, I had a good laugh, then I went around and asked if anybody was missing a pole. Nobody was missing one, so I kept it.

The model is C/TMF-462MLS. It is 4‘6“ long, and two pieces. Reel was included when I found it.

It also says South Bend 04/2014 on the bottom.

I actually was able to restore it by getting some new line on the reel. It is fully functioning now. It just needs some lubrication on the reel.

Now I need to see if it will catch the trout I am looking for.

All in all, a very funny find/catch.

I’m not one to exaggerate fishing stories, what I said is the truth.

Congratulations ..perhaps there’s still hope and you could snag one for me..I bought a new rod and expensive reel and went striper fishing the next morning using live herring for bait.First cast BANG as I watched it fly thru the air and never to be seen again.

Cool find! You must have thought that fish was a BIG one! :laughing7:

It happens.
Congrats!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Some youngster probably cried their eyes out after losing their
new fishing rig. cry1.gif

The rod was less than $5, new, but if the reel can be salvaged it'll
still catch fish!

Neat find. I believe your story, as I've done it once before myself. I was even able to clean it up and use it.
