We just seem to have the golden touch this year!
We were gridding for just over 5 hours on some freshly growing Spring Wheat, which we phoned the farmer before hand to check it was OK. Its on a sandy hill which has a spring leaking out half way up the hill. It's a site with only a small amount of finds but what we like is it can produce any period; Iron age, Roman, Saxon, & Medieval. And that is pretty much what it did today!

11 Roman Coins (Only had 6 off the site all last year)
Half a Saxon Disc Brooch
Tiny piece of Saxon Fibula
Tiny piece of Roman Fibula
Frag of Roman Bracelet
Roman Childs Ring
Iron Age (Celtic) Fibula
Some odds & sods from Dads 3 hours on the failed Bean Field.
Our first Roman Bronze Nail!
A Celtic Silver Unit of Cunobelin AD20;
Hercules Resting on Club
Naked Lady riding a feline creature whilst feeding it.
This coin I found is the same type of coin Cru'Dad had in Feb & being on 2 silver this year already, when 1 is a good year, is crazy.

Excellent Cru. You and CruDad are on a roll this year. That's a mighty small silver unit and great news, your hearing is excellent. Nice nail too.

Congrats bud

Love the designs on the coins you pull, very nice!

Another great assortment of coins and relics. Your hunts make my eyes bulge. Wish I could travel there some day,

UNEXPECTED BUT WELCOME!!!!! GREAT DAY :notworthy:

Wow and wow! Very well done sir, congrats!

Thats a fine piece of celtic coin! What i like too is the variety of jewelry. Amazing to get such an amount from a random field. Must have something to do with the spring. :icon_thumleft:

Congratz on some finds that I cannot even fathom!

Cru,

Good haul for your efforts.

Regards + HH

Another wow find! You are killing it this year-congratulations again!

as always...well done...very cool

Great stuff Cru, about the nail, how do you know it's roman?
And in the second photo, on the bottom right, what is that ,and the thing next to it that looks like a squasher thimble?

That's a lot of loot....your killing it....great finds!!

Nail - Best guess based on the metal type & patina, also the head type is like other known examples.

The bottom right is a typing block, but if the mean the bottom left; it’s a lead finial to an 18[SUP]th[/SUP] C Tea caddy. The ‘thimble’ is a Victorian dragonfly brooch.

Really love reading your post crusader !!
Something killer always great job keep pounding those sites !! Hh gl

I love opening your posts Crusader, the age of your finds is so hard for me to even imagine. That nail is even better preserved than some we find here from the Civil War. Great hunt you had.
