Upon doing some research tonight for some sites to hunt, I came across a few old parks in my city from the early 1900's that have been built over. This one in particular. It was the site of a public swimming pool and fairgrounds circa 1920. Now sits a printing factor. Has anyone else felt a bit uneasy after discovering such a great place? Yeah, time marches on.

Frustration is common for me, especially in this hotbed of rebellion, South Carolina. There is a point of land here that used to hold a fort looking over Winyah Bay. It saw action during the Revolution, and Civil War, was built, destroyed, rebuilt, destroyed, on and on. The civic leaders have designated it a park, and labeled it "Historically Significant." Those two words, under state law make it off limits to recreational metal detecting. It's undeveloped, just lying there, ripe and juicy.

that pond to the north has had a foot trail around it for some time too
