Got to detect a private beach yesterday at the request of the owners that paid our fee. We charge for beach cleaning services. They said it hasn't been detected in years so we were very happy to jump in an would have done it for free. There are six of us in the group and all showed up for "work."
After four hours of work everyone had about nine dollars in clad change. Most were quarters because of the water slide cost. Only two gold bands were found by the group and I wasn't one of the lucky ones. I did get 3 silver rings and a couple gold chains that were broken an many earrings. The area was littered with hot rocks from the water slide area. We collected enough gum, bandaids, paper and junk to fill 2 two gallon ziploc bags. The worst part was crawling back up the hill cause I was so tired but had a ton of fun.
