Hit the beach low tide, some silver coins

Low tide today 61 coins 3 silver quarters 57,44,43 and a Mercury dime 1943 one
wheatie! While some of these coins came off the wet sand from the storm most came off piles of sand that was moved around the beach due to boardwalk construction,hence the silver coins.The piles were dumped at the high tide line the storm waves are pulling the piles down!

You should see the people under the bordwalk sifting for coins. They do very good if you get an area that hasn't seen the light of day in 50 years they come up with 400 quarters a day with two working together. About 40 will be silver. The same holds true for the dimes nickles and pennies. Detecting isn't as good do to the iron trash and reebars.To add the fact its dirty work digging thought years of trash for 100 dollars a day. That's not treasure hunting! I just wait till the waves beat down the piles and the coins silver and gold show up.
Old silver shows up on our beaches each year not to the exstent it does on your beaches. We get our share of big 8's that show up!
