today i decided to go out in my yard to the "bottle dump" under the barn... my dad had found some a long time ago and left them there... i ended up digging up 4 of them, and bringing the others back. any idea of age or value on any of these??
both of these say United Vintner's Inc. on the bottom

The middle bottle says Wine on the bottom, the other 2 don't say anything

these say Est 1788 all over the bottle

the one with the white cover is from Jacquin's company...

what is the deal with the #s on the bottom of some of the bottles??

Nice finds, Pookie. I don't think they are too old because they are not the "cork" type. They appear to have srew on caps.

Cool finds. Those bottles aren't very old but they would be cool to find.

Nice finds, and you dug them intact!

I doubt they're very old, but they sure are nice to look at. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm about to hit a bottle myself. :tard:

The bottles are neat, and the contents were sweet, the word Vintner means wine maker.....Granpaw was a tippler?........NGE

Nice bottle dig. Congrats......

yea my dad found most of the bottles... i found a couple too. there was writing on most of the bottles saying Federal law prohibits sale or reuse of this bottle... i did a little research and apparently they put that from the 30s to the 60's so they're not that recent... apparently the little old ladies we bought the house from 26 years ago liked to drink...

Those bottles look to be similar to ones that I have pulled from a bottle dump on a farm in Portland, MI. About 90% of the bottles are from the 30s to 60s. But the deeper I go, the older the bottles get, including large crocks on the bottom. Unfortunately the water table is very high and the hole filled up with water and caved in at around 7ft deep. Most of the bottles out of the hole were whiskey and wine bottles. The bottles you have were probably whiskey and wine as well, comparing them to what I have found. Try going deeper and you might find some awesome glass.

Nice work!

Greg

Great bottles!

How deep were they? Any ideas of the date or where the plate came from?

MAN PLEHBA YOUR TOO FUNNY. by the way who took that picture of yourself. ha! ha!

Plehbah, that pic would make a great (new) avatar for ya ;D........NGE

GREAT BOTTLES. :coffee2:

actually the bottles were very close to the surface under piles of leaves... the piece of the plate was right behind the barn, on the surface as well. no idea where it came from... i do believe ther was a dumping area there. we have found tin cans and lots of pulley wheels there as well. ??? :-\

Neat! Have you researched your property to see just how old the place is? Sounds like a great area!

Nana :)

nana the house was built in the 1830s... so it is quite old...
