I've been sorting through some stuff tonight boxes and display cases and stuff that I shouldn't even have but I do and I found this.. It says on the back Stalin but I'm not really sure what it is. Any thoughts?

The face measures 2 inches tall by 1 3/4 wide. Could it be some kind of election thing?

Looks like its a Joseph Stalin pin of some kind.

That pin literally has Stalin written on it. So I'm going out on a limb and guessing Joseph Stalin

I think it might be Paul von Hindenburg. The writing doesn't really mean that whoever wrote it knew who it was. They may have guessed, and it does bear a resemblence to Stalin.

Definitely Stalin's and not Hitler's profile. The 1930's saw seizure of land from the peasants, and them being reduced back to serfs as under the monarchy. My Guess then is anyone wearing a gold image of Stalin was well to do, liked him probably politbureau or KGB, or Kremlinite of some type. I think a Russian Delegation was sent to the World Economic conference (England?) about the same time.

Here's a pic from an ebay auction of a Hindenburgh medal for comparison.

5 3 1933 was the date of the last multiple party election in Germany before hitler went full on dictator. He didn't get the full majority vote he needed so he passed a law and viola!!

I can see Hindenburg in the pin now that I've seen this coin, thanks for posting! (they should have hired THIS artist for that pin):unhappysmiley:

I'm just curious as to why the OP posted this when they obviously already knew the answer.

To be honest I posted this after a glass or two or..... Of absolute and lemonade. Apologies
