Hollowed Half

Picked up one of those hollowed halves some of you have posted about.

How were you able to open it (without damaging it) to see what one might be hidden inside ?

I had figured it had something to do with switching coins (if indeed it had something to do with magic tricks).

I guess I was right....

However, like the info about "spy" coins, one can certainly use these to hide messages in them.
