I've been watching these eagles build a new nest in this dead cottonwood tree for about a month now. The one on the branch in the 3rd picture steps out towards the weak end of the branch until it breaks off and it goes to add to the construction of their new home. There was a wildlife lady keeping a eye on them and she confirmed to me they're the same pair that had a nest in another tree the year before, but they suspect a housing project being built near that nest, may have caused them to move. Also a trail that goes closer to this nest has been closed off to the public.

I took a picture of these eagles hanging out in this old dead cottonwood tree before there was any nest at all, but I believe it was downloaded on my old laptop I've had that just recently went haywire on me after using it for 10 years. I thought then they were just hanging around in it as I knew they already had a nest elsewhere, but turns out they wanted to upgrade to this tree. It is a better tree and farther away from all the development going on around their old home. This area is a protected open space and will never be developed, so hopefully they'll be lot better off here.
