I was'nt sure where I was gonna hunt today so I headed to the hammered Silver park. Not in the mood to clear out the junk signals I opted for the woods that surrounds the park. I walked out there once before and saw there was a home or farm there at one time. I quickly found the dump with surface bottles all over. I estimate 1930's to 50's on the surface stuff. Found another Hartell's jar top on the surface. Deeper into the woods I found the first button with the P&R on it. Good sign. Lotsa beer cans all over from kids partying. That's probably who lost the Fossil watch. Two more deep buttons and I'm just wandering around scanning the leaves when I get another beer can bam signal. Pinpointed alittle smaller though. Just below the leafy matter layer I see the pendant. It was all dark brown so I did'nt think it was silver but after flipping it over I see Sterling. This is how it looks after alittle baking soda and light toothbrushing. The inset of intials can be removed. It kills me finding clad deep in the woods. The 1962 quarter and buffalo I got this morning when I stopped by Mom's house to say hi before she headed off to work. She found them in her change drawer at Grand Union. I'm constantly hounding her to check out the change and pull the wheaties for me. Tomorrow it's back to the farm fields.
Until then, may all your deep signals be keepers.

Don't want to be the kill joy, but I see no markings to make it silver? Can you make them out by eye?

Very nice, productive hunt Mike! :)

Excellent, I need new glasses :D

All you need now is someone with those initials, it will make a great prezzie :)

Wow, very nice! Keep up the good finds.

Forgot is P&R a railway button?

Awesome finds!

By the way... MMB just happen to be my mothers initials! I'll see if she might have lost that in Jersey sometime!

Congrats!

I'm not sure. I've never seen one like it yet. I'll have to do some research and see what I can find. Maybe PBK knows. ;)
Take care, Mike

It looks about 100 years old to me & reminds me of a uniform button to some sort of transport company. I'm pretty sure its going to be along those lines. I like buttons like this :)

Put it on the whatzit page with the backmark?

Mike I swear I am gonna tag along one of these centuries with you... The marcasite pin is just beautiful... just beautiful..wish they were my initials....lol.. great finds

Here's the back of the P&R button. Looks like Philadelphia Horstman possibly. Gotta clean it up a bit.
