Welcome to treaaurenet from SoCal.
Yes, you have a challenge coin.
A challenge coin a small coin or medallion, bearing an organization's insignia or emblem and carried by the organization's members.
There will be no name associated with the coin.
The coin is used to give to another for special action, for challenging others to a drink (if you don't have your coin, you buy) and for other reasons.
Don.......

Welcome, and nice find! I bet that made your Nox sound of!
It's not the type where the recipient can personalize it so it going to be tough. Those were given out in hundreds...maybe more.

That looks like an f-35.You might try looking for a web site for the 466th Fighter Squadron and ask if any pilot has lost his challenge coin.A long shot, but might pay off.

Where was it found? I have a close friend who's son is a F-35 Squadron Commander.

Panama City Beach...I posted a notice on a Facebook PCB lost & found site and mentioned the area I found it. Long shot but you never know.

That's a coincidence, I live less than 10 miles from Panama City Beach. I'll see if my friend can get a message to his son. He's the Commander of one of the active duty F-35 Squadrons at Hill AFB Utah, it's the sister unit of the 466th which is an AF Reserve unit. The F-35 maintainers some get their training at nearby Elgin AFB, Ft. Walton Beach FL which is only 45 minutes from where you found it.
