Horse Bridle Rosette - Does Anyone Recognize It?

I found this bridle rosette - approx. 1.75" in diameter.

Just curious if this one was 'just for show' or has a military connection? Anyone idea of time period?

We usually refer to those as civilian rosettes. But as you know, the boys in the civil war would use whatever they could find. Yours does look more modern though.
