Horse shoe from the 1600's & Counterfeit George II copper
I finished my chores, took Benson for a walk and there was still time to hit a really big new field just down the road. This field is next to one of the old creeks here, and not that far from the field behind the church next door. It took a while to get there, but when I did I couldn't believe the size of it. I only spent about 3 hours on it, just criss crossing and getting a feel for what might be there. The first part of the field was empty of all signals, then I started getting iron hits, then nothing, then iron. So I thought "What the heck" and dug one of the iron signals and up came this horse shoe from the 1600's. I kind of knew what it was, but had it confirmed by the UKDFD. The rest of that part of the field only had lead, buttons, a couple of modernish Georgian coins (only 1700's), but also a big tooth and lots of pointy flint. Anyway, enjoy the pics
