what do you make of this? at first i thought it was just a broke but it isn't (just the tip is perhaps). It was made this way with that tiny shoulder and a flat straight base. it is made from a really nice black banded agate like material, not obsidian or dacite. some sort of very small hafted knife perhaps?... a poorly made side notch? i ain't fer sure at all.

A square stem point that has been resharpened down to a nubbin. Good material so they used it to the end. Gary

...so you think that missing shoulder was just worked off over time?

From the flake scars, it looks like the indented part was made later in its use life -- shorter, higher-angled removals.
