How close can you operate 2 of same detector?

I'm looking at picking up closeout of Radio Shack Discovery 3300 for son. How close can 2 similar detectors operate without causing interference. At the price ($100) thought about picking up a second one for my other son/self to share. (newbie question)

Generally 25 feet or so, depending on the detectors.

With two Bounty Hunters, about 20 feet. If using a BH and another brand like a Tesoro, you can get within five feet or closer. Why not wait and save up the little extra money and buy son a Garrett Ace 250. He'll then clean your chronometer. (clock)
