How do I...

attach a photo in a response to a private message? Even in advanced mode I can only add a url. and not an attachment directly from a folder on my computer like I do when making a post in the forums. I can't even begin to imagine why this is the case, hoping someone here can explain it to me because I am baffled.

I am not sure you can. I know it won't let me. It will let me post a link but not attach a picture. I imagine its a storage issue?

Some people Can post pictures in a Private Message .. I'm 95% sure of it.

Had a member send me a PM while back asking about the location of a photo I had posted in my gallery.
I wanted to attach a KML to my PM and oops...
No attachment options in PM.


Bummer!


Workaround


Went to an old thread I had started (circa 2012) about "street view" in Google Earth.
Down on my last post I did an edit and attached the KML.
When you do an edit it does not "bump" the thread to the top like posting a reply will do.
Sent the member a PM with a link to the post I had edited.
Went back some time later and lo and behold, there was only one view displayed on the KML.
Thread is still way down there on the list due to not "bumping".




Down in the TreasureNet basement there is a forum about photography and images.
Great place to drop photos, edit, practice whatever.


Not as good as attachments on PM but it works for me.
